I am pleased to announce the first annual "Drive Fore a Cure" autism charity golf tournament. This year’s event will be on August 12, 2012 at Powderhorn Country Club in Madison, Ohio. The tournament will be a four-player team scramble with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. All you can eat lunch and dinner will be courtesy of The Winking Lizard Tavern (click here for menu details). Free pop, water and beer will be available all day.

There will be door prizes, registration gifts for each player, and cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Skill-shot prizes will be awarded for longest drive (men and women) and NTP. We will also feature four “hole-in-one” shot opportunities with chances to win a 32” LCD TV, a set of NIKE irons, a $500 VISA gift card and our grand prize-a 2012 Harley Davidson Super Glide!

Net proceeds will benefit The Autism Family Foundation. The Autism Family Foundation opened the “The Robert J. Keegan Family Center for Autism” in the fall of 2010. This state of the art facility houses a school called “KIDS FIRST”, a program operated by the Summit County Educational Service Center, and a Family Center. The mission of the foundation is to offer advocacy, workshops, support groups and other valuable services to the community. Through its collaborative efforts with Akron Children's Hospital and the County of Summit Developmental Disabilities Board, the Autism Family Foundation is able to serve the needs of local families affected by autism. "Our mission is to create a charity event which is fun for everyone involved. Our hope is that everyone involved walks away learning something about autism that touches their heart. That’s awareness in its simplest form... one person, one fact, one step forward!"

If you would like to participate as a single player or 4-player team please click here, print out your player registration form and return it along with your payment. You can also learn about becoming a sponsor, making a donation or being an event-day volunteer. Please contact us if you have any questions:
